Val is a creative graphic designer who specializes in business and corporate identity, branding, image creation, brochures, newsletters, print & production management as well as possessing online media and web design skills.

Before joining D+CO, Val was art director/graphic designer at Robert Casey & Associates Studio in downtown Pittsburgh, responsible for concept development, layout, design and coordination of various client projects such as PNC Bank, Green Building Alliance, Guardian Protection Services, Friends of the Riverfront & the Extra Mile Foundation.

In the early 90s Val managed and supervised the Graphic Design Department at the Joseph Horne Company, and upscale retail department store in Pittsburgh with over 20 stores. Mr. Petersen was responsible for the production of all print advertising as well as administrative duties related to his staff.

Val's design skills come with significant experience. He has deisgned and overseen hundreds of high-quality pieces since graduating from the Art Institue of Pittsburgh and becoming a graphic designer in 1981.

Val lives in Monroeville, PA with his wife and two children.
